FAQ: Do I need more memory or a faster processor?

We get this question alot. If you use your computer reguarly, at some time or another you are going to need to get more memory or just generally a faster computer. This is another question where there is no one-answer-fits-all type scenario. Most of the time this will depend on the current state of your computer, as well as what you use your computer for. If you do very graphical work, such as video editing, picture editing, etc... that typically requires the more powerful computers with larger amounts of memory, a powerful processor, and a high end video card. If you are just surfing the web, and it seems slow, you may just need a faster web connection or different ISP (Internet Service Provider). In general, if your computer used to be fast - or at least perform satisfactorily, and you still do the same activities with it that you did back then, you don't need any new hardware. Most likely, you need to go through and investigate what is causing the system to run so much slower.
